UPDATE 25/03/20 COVID 19

It is clear that it can no longer be business as usual in our sector. Many marina sites are closed to both contractors and boat owners, movement of vessels is restricted by CRT, and CRT have also advised BSS examinations have ceased. As I write BSS examiners have not been advised that we can not work, and the BSS have not released any information to examiners, but it is becoming impossible to work safely.

My diary is open so please continue to place bookings throughout 2020 and into 2021. I continue to be available for emergency call outs as a gas safe registered engineer and can offer advice to all my customers by phone. It is still possible to conduct some marine surveying while observing social distancing; please call to enquire about your particular situation.

UPDATE 18/03/20 Coronavirus COVID 19

It's business as usual for me, so please continue to book my services as normal. I've always happily worked in isolation and am happy to continue to work on owners' boats unattended, and I am fully insured to. On the other hand I'm also happy to meet face to face as normal. If you don't feel like travelling, or are unwell, but are concerned about your boat certification, I can make arrangements to get access to your boat; you can post keys or leave for me to collect. As always I am happy to continue to offer minor running repairs as part of the service I offer.

Let's help keep Britain working, and keep calm and carry on.
